At Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, bringing your own photographer, videographer or DJ costs US$1,500 per outside vendor, applied per service, for one person for one day. Vendors who do audiovisual work, bring their own DJ equipment or install heavy structures also pay a US$1,500 vendor supervision fee and must carry a US$500,000 insurance policy. Those figures are on the resort's own marriage requirements page, re-read on 5 November 2026.
This spoke covers Hard Rock only. For how Dreams Flora, Secrets Tides, Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana and Royalton compare, see our parent guide to Punta Cana resort outside-vendor fees and day passes. Resorts change fees without notice: ask your coordinator for the current figure in writing before you sign.
The published outside-vendor fee
The marriage-requirements page states: a third-party vendor fee of US$1,500 applies per outside vendor hired by the couple and not contracted by the hotel as a preferred vendor. If the vendor provides multiple services, the fee applies per service. The fee covers one person for one day. Extra staff, or access on extra days, need a day pass; if you want the vendor to eat at the event, a day pass is also required (Hard Rock marriage requirements, read 5 November 2026).
Separately, for any third-party vendor that carries out audiovisual work, brings their own DJ equipment, or installs heavy-duty materials (trussing, tents, hanging fabrics and similar), Hard Rock requires a US$1,500 Vendor Supervision Fee and a US$500,000 insurance policy (Hard Rock marriage requirements).
Worked example from those figures only: one outside photographer plus one outside DJ (without equipment) is US$3,000 in vendor fees before you pay either supplier. A DJ who brings equipment adds the US$1,500 supervision fee and the insurance requirement.
The 3-night waiver (and who is excluded)
Hard Rock's weddings FAQ adds the waiver: if the vendor stays on property for a minimum of 3 nights, the outside-vendor fee and vendor passes are waived. That waiver applies only to a photographer, videographer, makeup/hairstylist, or DJ without equipment. The vendor must have their own reservation under their name. The same FAQ states that no local vendors from the Dominican Republic are allowed on property (Hard Rock weddings FAQ, read 5 November 2026).
So a travelling photographer who books three nights under their own name can avoid the US$1,500 fee; a Dominican resident photographer cannot work the property under this published rule. Confirm both points in writing with the wedding specialist for your date.

Day passes for guests who stay elsewhere
Hard Rock requires 80% of wedding guests to stay on property. Day/wedding passes are capped at 20% of the guest count, are only guaranteed on the ceremony day, and guests with wedding passes must leave by 11:00 PM (Hard Rock weddings FAQ).
The marriage-requirements page still lists 2024 wedding-pass rates: US$136 per adult and teens 13–18, and US$66 per child aged 4–12, with prices subject to change without notice (Hard Rock marriage requirements, read 5 November 2026). Ask for the current pass price in your contract.
Other Hard Rock wedding fees that sit next to the vendor fee
The same official page lists a US$1,000 late-booking fee when the Complimentary Wedding Collection is reserved 30 days or less before the ceremony; a US$1,200 government/administrative fee for civil ceremonies performed by a justice of the peace (on top of the collection cost); a US$1,000 Catholic wedding fee; beach/no-elevator private-function set-up fees of US$6 / US$12 / US$18 per person (ages 4+) for cocktail, private function, or both; a US$500 non-refundable deposit to hold the date; and a US$500 late-payment fee for balances paid 44 days or less before the wedding (Hard Rock marriage requirements).
Those lines are not outside-vendor fees, but they change the same budget. Our destination wedding cost guide puts them next to other resorts' hidden costs.
When a villa or independent venue is cheaper
Hard Rock's outside-vendor and day-pass rules are resort policies. A private villa, beach club or boutique venue sets its own rules: guests can stay wherever they like, and you usually bring your own photographer and DJ without a per-service hotel fee. If you stay at Hard Rock but want your own photo or DJ team, read our Dominican Republic wedding photographers comparison and the Wedding DJ page (from US$2,500) before you decide whether the US$1,500 fee is worth it versus the resort's in-house team.
