How this comparison is ordered
This is a comparison of public information, not a review. We have not hired, visited or tested these vendors, and the order says nothing about the quality of their service. Listings are ordered by how much verifiable information each vendor publishes, so you can compare like with like: published prices we can cite (+2), published capacity or group size (+1), facts confirmed on the vendor's own site (+3), each additional sourced fact (+0.5, max 6) and each independent public source (+0.25, max 6). Ties are alphabetical. Paid placement never changes the order, and we show no star ratings because we have not collected reviews ourselves. Always confirm prices, availability and permits directly with the vendor.

How to choose a retreat base in Las Terrenas
Start with group size, because it rules out options quickly. Yoga Life Villa in the hills of Las Terrenas hosts retreats of up to 23 guests in 10 suites, with daily yoga and meditation and vegetarian cuisine, and also rents its studio. Shiva's Cave Retreat Center houses up to 18 people across one to four homes (villas, an apartment and a studio) in a limestone-grotto setting, with meal plans and airport transfer information. ZÂRIA EcoRetreat in El Valle, Samaná, has 10 rooms for up to 30 guests and offers complimentary round-trip transfers from Santo Domingo (SDQ) for groups of 15 or more, plus Wi-Fi throughout. El Retiro in Las Terrenas focuses on private and small-group wellness retreats, ceremonies and mentoring.
Then decide whether you want a turnkey program or a venue you fill yourself. A teacher bringing their own group usually needs rooms, a practice space and meals; a solo traveler is better served by a center that runs scheduled retreats. Ask each place what is included in the nightly rate, whether meals can be adapted to dietary needs, and how airport transfers are arranged.
Getting there: Samaná El Catey International Airport (AZS) is the closest airport to Las Terrenas; many groups also fly into Santo Domingo (SDQ) or Punta Cana (PUJ) and transfer by road.
