Getting there
Samaná El Catey airport (AZS) is about 30 minutes from Las Terrenas, the shortest option. Santo Domingo (SDQ) has many more flights and is a sensible choice for groups of 15+ at Zaria because of its free transfer. Puerto Plata (POP) and Punta Cana (PUJ) are further away.

In winter, humpback whale trips leave from Samaná town (Whale Samaná: US$65 per adult, January 15–March 31). Year-round, Samaná Excursions lists Los Haitises and Cayo Levantado days from US$60 and trips to El Limón waterfall.
