Private catamaran charter in Punta Cana: 2026 prices compared

Published prices for private catamarans from Bávaro and Cap Cana, what is included, hourly vs fixed-price charters and how to compare per-person cost.

A private catamaran is one of the most-booked group experiences in Punta Cana, for families, birthdays, bachelorette groups and wedding welcome parties. Prices vary a lot because operators price in three different ways: a fixed price for a 3-hour trip, a base price for a set number of guests plus a per-person charge, or an hourly rate from a marina.

This guide lists the published prices of the operators in our directory so you can compare like with like. All prices are in US dollars as shown on each operator's website at the time of writing; confirm before booking, because rates change and some depend on season.

Fixed-price 3-hour charters from Bávaro

Caribbean Venture publishes the lowest entry price in our listings: private 3-hour charters from US$500 on the Discovery, for up to 8 guests. Its larger catamarans start at US$550–700 for 5 guests plus US$50 per additional person, with boats for up to 120. The package includes hotel pickup, snorkeling at the Bávaro reef, a natural pool stop, an open bar with national drinks, fruit, snacks and an entertainment crew.

Yacht Charters Punta Cana lists private charters from US$650, including its Bávaro Catamaran 36 for up to 16 guests, with large-group catamarans from US$1,350. Its 3–4-hour natural pool cruises leave from Bávaro and Cap Cana. Pink Cat prices a private 3-hour charter from US$990 and a booze cruise from US$750, and Happy Fish lists private catamarans from US$989.

Hourly charters from Cap Cana

Marina Cap Cana opened in 2007 and is the departure point for most charters in the gated Cap Cana community. Cap Cana Charters prices by the hour: catamarans from US$310 to US$480 per hour, motor yachts such as the Sea Ray 370 from US$300 per hour, and the Maiora 103 from US$1,750 per hour, with boats for 8 to 35 guests and trips to the natural pool and Juanillo Beach. A 3-hour catamaran at US$310 per hour works out at about US$930 before extras.

Cana Boat publishes trip prices instead: a Searay 26 for 1–6 guests for 2.5 hours from US$550, and the Funcat 36 catamaran for 1–12 guests for 3 hours from US$950. It also runs Saona and Catalina island charters and fishing trips, with crews speaking English, Spanish, German and French.

How to compare per-person cost

Divide the price by the number of guests the boat actually takes: US$650 for up to 16 guests on the Bávaro Catamaran 36 is about US$41 per person when full, while US$500 for 8 on the Discovery is about US$63. For small groups, a shared boat can be cheaper still: Bebe Catamarans and Pink Cat list shared 3-hour trips from US$65 per person.

Then compare inclusions: hotel pickup, drinks, food, snorkel gear and marina fees can each change the real price. Ask whether the price is per trip or per hour, whether it covers transport from your hotel, and whether gratuities are expected.

Booking tips

Bring a passport photo if you leave from a marina, reef-safe sunscreen and a towel. Book early for peak season (November to April) and for weekends.
